Recap: Woodlawn Warriors vs. Loch Raven Raiders
The Woodlawn Warriors suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-29 loss at the hands of Loch Raven. While losing is never fun, Woodlawn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Loch Raven is ranked 47th).
Leading Loch Raven to victory were Destaney Harris and Maya Gordon. Harris scored 18 points along with three steals, while Gordon scored 16 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. Meona Boykin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.
Woodlawn now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Loch Raven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodlawn will take on Hereford at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hereford will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Loch Raven, they will head out on the road to face off against Lansdowne at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lansdowne is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
