Basketball Recap: Walton Takes a Loss

Walton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 49-29 to the Mosley Dolphins. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dolphins earlier this season, when they won 58-41.

Faith Alvarado was nothing short of spectacular for Mosley: she went 6 for 15 on her way to 15 points along with seven steals and five assists. Alvarado has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Persia Mincer, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Walton's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Mosley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-11.

Walton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Baker at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mosley, they and Chipley will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
