Baseball Recap: Slater Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Slater's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fayette Falcons on Saturday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Slater has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season. As for Fayette, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Coming up, Slater will square off against Norborne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.33 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fayette, they will challenge Calvary Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
