Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Hot Springs Tigers, falling 3-0. The Lobos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-21, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, Chaparral saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Diana Valenzuela had 16 digs and one assist. Valenzuela has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Hot Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Chaparral has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Gadsden on the 23rd. As for Hot Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Gateway Christian on the 19th.
