Basketball Recap: Marshall Phoenix vs. KIPP SF College Prep Phoenix
After flying high against Lycee Francais last Friday, Marshall came back down to earth. The Marshall Phoenix were outmatched by the KIPP SF College Prep Phoenix and fell 91-55. Marshall hasn't had much luck with KIPP SF College Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Marshall's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Martel Peters, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Peters has been hot for a while, having posted four or more steals the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcel Anderson, who went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and five boards.
Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for KIPP SF College Prep, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will take on Burton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for KIPP SF College Prep, they will head out to face off against City Arts and Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
