Football Recap: Edison Comes Up Short at Home Against Franklin

Edison unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 40-29 to the Franklin Wildcats on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, don't look at Devin Rasmussen. Despite the final result, he threw for 302 yards and three TDs. Rasmussen is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Even if they lost, Edison's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Francis Taamu was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Braylon Robinson had a dynamite game For Franklin., throwing for 288 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. The dominant performance also gave Robinson a new career-high in rushing yards (26). Jovan Harper did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 110 receiving yards.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Edison will head out to take on Clovis West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
