West Union came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the West Lowndes Panthers a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

West Union pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for West Lowndes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Coming up, West Union will head out to face off against Houlka at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Lowndes, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Aberdeen at 6:00 p.m.
