Basketball Recap: First Baptist Triumphs

If Woodcrest Baptist Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played First Baptist, they should've done a better job of containing Isaac Wynja. The First Baptist Crusaders took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-25 victory over Woodcrest Baptist Academy thanks in part to Wynja, who went 7 for 16 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Those six assists gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Jon Anaya, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times he's played.

The win got First Baptist back to even at 8-8. As for Woodcrest Baptist Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
