Basketball Game Preview: Harrison Central Huskies vs. Bellaire Big Reds

The Harrison Central Huskies will square off against the Bellaire Big Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Friday, Harrison Central came up short against Oak Glen and fell 54-47.

Meanwhile, Bellaire didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shenandoah on Friday, but they still walked away with a 76-70 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Big Reds.

Harrison Central better keep an eye on Raekwon Pettigrew. He was instrumental in Bellaire's win, dropping a double-double with 41 points and ten rebounds. Pettigrew continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Jewell, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 24 points and six boards.

The win got Bellaire back to even at 11-11. As for Harrison Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Harrison Central against Bellaire when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-30 victory. In that matchup, Harrison Central amassed a halftime lead of 40-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
