North Jersey - Colonial recap Oct. 30, 2012

Rutherford extended the longest winning streak in North Jersey - Colonial this week by beating Garfield, 42-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bulldogs.

Rutherford made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,372 from 6,870. The improvement came about via a 42-13 victory over the Boilermakers last week.

Elmwood Park's dynamic duo of Michael Dare and Nick Smith proved tough for Manchester Regional to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dare threw for 247 yards and five touchdowns and Smith had 178 yards receiving. Randy Santos helped Elmwood Park's passing attack out by catching two balls for 39 yards.

Pat Landrigan was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 124 yards on 18 carries as the Bulldogs beat the Falcons. Neal Calabrese also contributed to the rushing game with 39 yards on the ground.

Elmwood Park's Dare and Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dare has thrown for 2147 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 49 catches for 911 yards. Landrigan from Rutherford leads the league in rushing with 885 yards.

The Crusaders' Smith is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 89 receiving yards against Wallington to hit that benchmark.

Elmwood Park led North Jersey - Colonial in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on Manchester Regional. Dare in the win.
