Basketball Recap: Piedmont Classical Bobcats vs. Carver Yellowjackets
After flying high against Triad Math and Science Academy last Thursday, Piedmont Classical came back down to earth. The Piedmont Classical Bobcats fell 62-52 to the Carver Yellowjackets on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 52-44 loss two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Piedmont Classical still got an impressive performance from Christian Daye, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 19 points. Daye is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was La'Trel Smith, who posted nine points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.
Carver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tiquan March led the charge by going 7-for-10 en route to 16 points and four steals. What's more, March also posted a 70% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jeremiah Glaspie was another key player, going 7-for-11 to rack up 16 points and seven boards.
Piedmont Classical's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Carver, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
Piedmont Classical does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carver, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-61 defeat against College Prep & Leadership Academy on the 18th.
