Basketball Recap: Richland's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of four wins, Richland's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 54-43 to Moore County. Richland was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Moore County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Richland lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Shelby Higgins, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 16 points. The contest was her third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Blair, who posted 12 points and five assists.

Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 27-4. As for Moore County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Richland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-40 victory against Wayne County on the 8th. As for Moore County, they have also already played their next contest, a 57-37 win against McEwen on the 8th.
