Baseball Game Preview: Willard Crimson Flashes vs. Columbian Tornadoes

The Willard Crimson Flashes will venture away from home to take on the Columbian Tornadoes at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Willard has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Willard fell victim to Margaretta and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Polar Bears, falling 12-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Crimson Flashes in their meetings with the Polar Bears: they've now lost five in a row.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Columbian and Clyde have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Tornadoes lost 11-4 to the Fliers.

Columbian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Reese, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Willard's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Columbian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Willard couldn't quite get it done against Columbian in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 7-3. Can the Crimson Flashes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
