Fort Lupton falls despite big games from Zaylee Chavez and Daniella Aviles

Recap: Fort Lupton Bluedevils vs. Arrupe Jesuit Generals

After flying high against the DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors last Saturday, the Fort Lupton Bluedevils came back down to earth. Fort Lupton fell to the Generals 51-46. Fort Lupton lost against the Generals in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 71-25 score last time.

Despite the loss, Fort Lupton had strong showings from Daniella Aviles, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds, and Zaylee Chavez, who scored 12 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aviles has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Serenity Gallegos, who scored two points along with four steals.

Karen Alvarez was a one-man wrecking crew for Arrupe Jesuit as she scored 30 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Alvarez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Atany Peter was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Fort Lupton's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Arrupe Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Fort Lupton will be playing at home against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (DSST: Montview is ranked 301st, while the Bluedevils are ranked 291st). As for Arrupe Jesuit, they will head out on the road to challenge the Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Englewood will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
