Baseball Recap: Jacksonville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Jacksonville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the McMichael Phoenix. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by exactly four runs.

Maguire Lewis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. Lewis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jacksonville let Vasco Sutton and Kaiden Cox run wild. Sutton went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Cox got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Cox is becoming a predictor of Jacksonville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-9 when he doesn't).
