Philip Simmons and Central squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Philip Simmons had to settle for second. They fell 57-47 to the Eagles. The Iron Horses' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Philip Simmons still got an impressive performance from Hayes Goddard, who threw for 300 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 69 yards. Omonte Taylor was another key player, rushing for 95 yards and one score.

Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dwayne Louallen Jr, who rushed for 132 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries, and also threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Those 132 rushing yards gave Louallen Jr a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashten Wilson, who gained 245 total yards and a touchdown.

Philip Simmons' defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Philip Simmons does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they will face off against Hampton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,181 yards in their previous games.
