Baseball Game Preview: Hemet Bulldogs vs. Moreno Valley Vikings

The Hemet Bulldogs will square off against the Moreno Valley Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hemet 3.9, Moreno Valley 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Hemet needed a bit of extra time to put away Orange Vista. They won by a run and slipped past the Coyotes 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 17th.

The team relied heavily on Cohen Joiner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Mathew Gregory was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Moreno Valley didn't have quite enough to beat La Quinta on Saturday and fell 2-1. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Moreno Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hemet, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Everything went Hemet's way against Moreno Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2021, as Hemet made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
