PURE Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rosa Fort Lions, sneaking past 42-40. The Athletes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

When it comes to explaining why Rosa Fort lost, don't look at Christian Alexander. Despite the final result, he rushed for 300 yards and four scores while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 48 yards and one touchdown. Alexander was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.

PURE Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Rosa Fort, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. PURE Academy will venture away from home to square off against Memphis Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rosa Fort, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
