Preview: KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack vs. More Knights
KIPP San Jose Collegiate is 0-10 against More since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack will be staying on the road to face off against the More Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, KIPP San Jose Collegiate beat Mid-Peninsula 61-48.
Meanwhile, More stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by North Valley Baptist on the road to the tune of 62-32. The win was familiar territory for More who now have four in a row.
Tim Selway was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vince Cortese, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for More, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate came up short against More in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-54. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Selway, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Now that KIPP San Jose Collegiate knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
