Recap: Macon County Bulldogs vs. Taylor County Vikings
The Macon County Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taylor County. Macon County has not had much luck with Taylor County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Macon County saw an underclassman step up: Morgan Cochran dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Cochran scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniah Lake, who scored 14 points along with three blocks.
Macon County now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Taylor County, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macon County will challenge Calhoun County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Calhoun County is ranked 317th, while Macon County is ranked 305th). Taylor County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wilkinson County at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th.
