Pine Lake Prep won against Christ the King last Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the Pine Lake Prep Pride's way against the Christ the King Crusaders as the Pine Lake Prep Pride made off with a 17-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pride in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won nine in a row.

Emma Rette made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Rette was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Pine Lake Prep got a massive performance out of Ava Cornacchione, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Cornacchione's first of the season. Kristen Armstrong was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Pine Lake Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Pine Lake Prep's record now sits at 4-0. As for Christ the King, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Lake Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Corvian Community at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Christ the King, they will face off against North Hills Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
