Soccer Game Preview: Lutheran vs. Jefferson Academy

Lutheran is 1-6 against Jefferson Academy since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lutheran face off against Jefferson Academy at 12:00 p.m. Lutheran will be strutting in after a victory while Jefferson Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Lutheran took a loss when they played away from home on March 11th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Douglas County as Lutheran made off with a 3-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Lutheran were the better team in the second half.

Abby Megill and Brynlee Booher scored all three of Lutheran's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Academy's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ralston Valley. Jefferson Academy haven't had much luck with Ralston Valley recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Jefferson Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Lutheran couldn't quite get it done against Jefferson Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 as they fell 2-0. Can Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
