Basketball Recap: Twiggs County Takes a Loss

Twiggs County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 63-22 defeat at the hands of the Johnson County Trojans. The Cobras were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-12.

When it comes to explaining why Twiggs County lost, don't look at JaMiyah Glover. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 7 en route to 18 points. That was a full 81.8% of Twiggs County's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Johnson County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from TyRhianna Brown, who put up 15 points. That's the most points Brown has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziyah Lewis, who had 12 points.

Twiggs County's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Johnson County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Twiggs County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-15 defeat against Academy for Classical Education on the 4th. Johnson County has also already played their next match, a 46-41 victory against Dublin on the 4th.
