Volleyball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hoover can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs on Thursday. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Hoover started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 25-18.

Loss or not, Hoover got some senior leadership from Mallory Stutzman and Avery Allman. Stutzman had 28 digs and three assists, while Allman had 12 digs. Stutzman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Olmsted Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Olmsted Falls, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Magnificat on the 1st.
