Baseball Recap: Macarthur Has No Trouble Against Winn

MacArthur had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Winn on Tuesday. The Brahmas put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 10-4 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-4 back in February.

Houston Joy was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Korey Alston was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Laboy-Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

MacArthur's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Winn, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.

Looking ahead, MacArthur will face off against Southwest Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winn, they will challenge Harlandale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last seven games the Indians have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
