Softball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello managed to slip by Cambridge-Isanti the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Magic lost 11-4 to the Bluejackets on Thursday. The Magic were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Paige Flanigan put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Flanigan was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Flanigan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Marcus, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cambridge-Isanti, their record now sits at 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will challenge Becker at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cambridge-Isanti, they will square off against Denfeld at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
