Soccer Recap: Marion Triumphs

Marion proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past the Abingdon Falcons 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Marion were the better team in the second half.

Nelson Arcia-Arce and Santos Zelaya-Diaz scored all three of Marion's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Marion's win bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for Abingdon, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Coming up, Marion will take on Patrick Henry at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Abingdon, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 victory against Richlands on the 1st.
