Basketball Recap: Gatesville Takes a Loss

Gatesville lost against Lorena back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gatesville Hornets took a hard 59-42 fall against the Lorena Leopards. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while the Leopards are ranked 156th).

Gatesville has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Lorena, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Gatesville will head out to challenge China Spring at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Lorena, they will host Connally at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Lorena's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Connally has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
