Maize South waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their defense stepped up to hand the Valley Center Hornets a 2-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 4-1 win back in April.

Maize South pushed their record up to 13-2-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those seven matches. As for Valley Center, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Maize South wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Derby on the 14th. Valley Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
