Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Lancers vs. Baxter Springs Lions

Southeast is 0-3 against Baxter Springs since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Southeast took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cherryvale, sneaking past 12-10. The victory continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Two must be Baxter Springs' lucky number: they beat Columbus with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Titans 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Southeast pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Baxter Springs, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
