Volleyball Game Preview: Ashe County Huskies vs. Enka Jets

The Ashe County Huskies will take on the Enka Jets in a tournament on Saturday. Ashe County will be strutting in after a victory while Enka will be coming in after a loss.

Ashe County took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Cherokee.

Ashe County not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Cherokee between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20.

Ashe County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lorali Overcash, who had seven kills and four digs. Gracie Finley was another key player, getting four digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Enka came up short against Hickory on Friday and fell 2-0. The Jets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-18.

Enka's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Ashe County, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
