Softball Recap: Pensacola Takes a Loss

After flying high against East Hill Christian last Friday, Pensacola came back down to earth. The Pensacola Tigers lost 17-7 to the Pine Forest Eagles on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Carniya Russell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Reigna Robinson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Pensacola was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Pensacola's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pine Forest, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Pensacola will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Pine Forest, they will take on Saint James in a tournament on Monday.
