Baseball Recap: Chippewa Hills Comes Up Short

Chippewa Hills had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 7-8 to make it four. They fell just short of the Grant Tigers by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-1 loss on Monday.

As for Grant, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games.

For Grant's part, Austin Gragg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Gragg has posted over his last 14 matchups. Another player making a difference was Aiden Booth, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chippewa Hills will square off against Tri County Area at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grant, they will take on Oakridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
