Baseball Recap: ALA - West Foothills Wins Going Away Against Highland Prep

ALA - West Foothills never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Highland Prep Honey Badgers with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Guardians have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lucas Brittan was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other pitching news, Parker Schmidt looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Johnny Garcia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. ALA - West Foothills is undefeated when Garcia posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Jaxson Garvey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

ALA - West Foothills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland Prep only posted an OBP of .083.

ALA - West Foothills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. Highland Prep dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
