Basketball Recap: Howard Starts Season with Victory Against Hodgson Vo-Tech

Howard had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their match with ease, bagging an 80-40 win over the Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wildcats have posted since January 26th.

Howard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryson Lane led the charge by going 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points along with six boards and four steals. Those six boards gave Lane a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Brown, who posted 16 points and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Hodgson Vo-Tech and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Howard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-33 loss against DeMatha on the 13th. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-43 defeat against Delcastle Technical on the 14th.
