            Baseball Recap: Service Cougars vs. Chugiak Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            Service faced Chugiak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs, sneaking past  5-3. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.
 Rilen Niclai spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three  runs (all of which were unearned)  on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Kegan Lennox was  excellent,  going 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Service  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chugiak struck out 15 times.

Service pushed their record up to 16-1 with the  victory, which was their tenth straight  at home dating back to last season. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Chugiak, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
