Soccer Game Preview: Norfolk Academy vs. Currituck County

The Norfolk Academy Bulldogs will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Currituck County Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Norfolk Academy is headed out to face Currituck County after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Norfolk Academy's defense stepped up to hand Peninsula Catholic a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. Maria Delyannis was a massive factor in the win as she booted in five goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Currituck County). They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Hertford County on Wednesday. Considering the Knights' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Everything went Norfolk Academy's way against Currituck County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Norfolk Academy made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norfolk Academy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
