Baseball Recap: Hickory Comes Up Short

Hickory fell victim to Slippery Rock and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 2-0. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rockets earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

This is the second loss in a row for Hickory and nudges their season record down to 6-12. As for Slippery Rock, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hickory will face off against rival Sharon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Slippery Rock is set to take on their familiar foe Titusville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
