Soccer Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Gateway was the 1-0 winner over Cape Coral when they last played one another back in November of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles opened the new year with a less-than-successful 3-1 defeat to the Seahawks.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 8-4-4. As for Cape Coral, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 7-6-3 record.

Looking ahead, Gateway will be playing in front of their home fans against Estero at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cape Coral, they will take on Ida Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
