Volleyball Recap: Liberty's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Liberty won the last time they faced Easton Area and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hurricanes walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Rovers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hurricanes as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Liberty had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-29, 28-26, 27-25, 26-24.

Sofia Condoulis paced Liberty's offense, picking up 22 kills. Condoulis got some help from Mia Mitch and her 34 assists. Eva Madeira controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Easton Area still got an impressive performance from Jaymee Knox, who had 21 digs and five assists. With that strong performance, Knox is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 8-10-2. As for Easton Area, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-11-2.

Coming up, Liberty will host Nazareth Area at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Easton Area, they will venture away from home to challenge Notre Dame-Green Pond at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
