Volleyball Recap: Emma Dahl and Genna Kreuser Secure Win for Northwestern

Northwestern lost to Cumberland back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Beavers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Northwestern got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 52-12, 25-16.

Leading Northwestern to victory were Genna Kreuser and Emma Dahl. Kreuser had eight digs and seven aces, while Dahl had 11 assists and six digs. Those seven aces gave Kreuser a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Northwestern was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive matches.

Northwestern is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Cumberland, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.

Coming up, Northwestern will take on Turtle Lake in a tournament on Saturday. As for Cumberland, they will challenge Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
