Baseball Game Preview: Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns vs. Vista Panthers

The Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns will venture away from home to take on the Vista Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, Rancho Buena Vista came up short against Oceanside and fell 6-3.

Tyler Saldana-Mu?oz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, David Navadel was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Vista fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Mission Vista on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Mission Vista by a score of 3-2.

Rancho Buena Vista's record is now 5-10. As for Vista, their record now sits at 7-6.

Rancho Buena Vista came out on top in a nail-biter against Vista in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
