Baseball Game Preview: Biglerville Canners vs. York County Tech Spartans

Biglerville has gone 8-2 against York County Tech recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Canners will challenge the Spartans at 4:15 p.m. Biglerville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Biglerville came up short against Camp Hill on Thursday, falling 10-4. The Canners have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Aiden Hoffman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Bo Forney was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, York County Tech lost 8-2 to Bermudian Springs on Tuesday.

York County Tech saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Combs, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Brody Sterner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Biglerville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for York County Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

York County Tech's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Biglerville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for York County Tech, though, as they've only averaged .348. Will they be able to contain Biglerville's hitters?

Everything went Biglerville's way against York County Tech when the teams last played back in March, as Biglerville made off with an 18-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Canners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
