Basketball Recap: Fountain-Fort Carson Comes Up Short

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-30, which was the final score in the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans's tilt against the Pueblo West Cyclones on Wednesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Fountain-Fort Carson still got an impressive performance from Dissani Lynch, who went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sahriah Smith, who posted six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pueblo West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rebekah Seggerman, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Collins, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Fountain-Fort Carson's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Pueblo West, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-8.

Fountain-Fort Carson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-38 defeat against Vista Ridge on the 1st. As for Pueblo West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-46 victory against Liberty on the 31st.
