Soccer Game Preview: Western vs. Orange

The Western Pioneers will head out to challenge the Orange Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Western comes in on six and Orange on three.

Last Friday, Western narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bolsa Grande 3-2.

Meanwhile, Orange won against Loara last Friday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Wednesday. Orange walked away with a 3-1 victory over Rancho Alamitos.

Western's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three matchups. As for Orange, they now have a winning record of 7-6-2.

Western took their victory against Orange when the teams last played on January 10th by a conclusive 8-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
