McGill-Toolen is a perfect 4-0 against Hoover since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets will square off against the Hoover Buccaneers at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hoover will be up against a hot McGill-Toolen team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. McGill-Toolen never let Mary G. Montgomery get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Vikings are ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hoover hadn't done well against Oak Mountain recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went Hoover's way against Oak Mountain as Hoover made off with a 4-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Buccaneers considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Elise Marquardt and DeeDee Udeh scored all four of Hoover's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

McGill-Toolen pushed their record up to 7-3-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six contests. As for Hoover, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5.

McGill-Toolen beat Hoover by a goal when the teams last played back in March of 2016, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for McGill-Toolen since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
