Basketball Game Preview: Park View Patriots vs. Gar-Field Red Wolves

The Park View Patriots will take on the Gar-Field Red Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Park View will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Wednesday, Park View had to suffer through a 57-10 loss at the hands of Potomac Falls. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Gar-Field opened the new year with a less-than-successful 44-32 defeat to Christ Chapel Academy. The Red Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Park View will have to contain Icys Carroll as she made an impact in Gar-Field's last game. She posted 17 points. That was a full 53.1% of Gar-Field's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jesenia Hernandez, who scored seven points.

Gar-Field's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Park View, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Park View couldn't quite finish off Gar-Field in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 36-33. Can Park View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
