Softball Recap: Calvert Drops Highest Score of Season Against South Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvert). They were the clear victors by a 25-6 margin over the South Central Trojans on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Senecas in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

Calvert got a massive performance out of Ava Eilrich, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Gracie Miller was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Calvert hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Calvert pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.2 runs over those games. As for South Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Calvert beat the Trojans by a score of 18-0 later that day.
