Basketball Game Preview: Wasilla Warriors vs. Mountain City Christian Academy Lions

The Wasilla Warriors will square off against the Mountain City Christian Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wasilla has five straight wins, Mountain City Christian Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Wasilla is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: West Valley, who was ranked fifth at the time (Wasilla was ranked 17th). Wasilla came out on top against West Valley by a score of 69-59 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mountain City Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 52-48 to Colony.

Wasilla pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points over those games. As for Mountain City Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Everything went Wasilla's way against Mountain City Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January, as Wasilla made off with a 62-39 win. Will Wasilla repeat their success, or does Mountain City Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
