Volleyball Recap: Mallard Creek Takes a Loss

Mallard Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Porter Ridge Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Friday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mallard Creek sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 15-12.

Mallard Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Porter Ridge, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4.

Coming up, Mallard Creek will take on Ridge View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Porter Ridge, they will face off against Cuthbertson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Pirates' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
